Business Meeting
FAQ
  • What kind of work will I be doing?
You’ll begin as an entry-level customer sales and service representative. Our reps schedule appointments to introduce potential customers to Cutco and Ka-Bar products through one-on-one presentations. It’s not your ordinary 9 to 5 position, and we’ve found that people enjoy the flexibility and opportunity the position provides. Representatives gain experience through: - Calling clients - Setting appointments - Presenting to clients - Answering questions - Helping clients place their orders
  • What will my schedule be like?
Your schedule is entirely up to you. As a sales representative, you are able to set your own appointments and determine how many you’ll complete each week. Don’t worry about things like minimum hours or unpredictable calendars; you can set your own schedule week-by-week based on when you’re available to work.
  • Are there any start-up costs?
No, we don’t make you pay to work here. During your virtual training, we provide you with all the online resources you'll need to present to a client. After training is complete, you're ready to get started!
  • How am I paid?
Our reps earn a 10% - 30% commission for every sale they make. A majority of customers who see Cutco decide to purchase (that's great thing for our representatives!). But if customers decide not to purchase, we also offer a base pay of $15 per qualified appointment. This means you’re guaranteed to earn at least this base pay each qualified appointment completed, whether or not you close the deal. Most people buy, so most of our representatives earn commissions (more than $20 per appointment). Our top representatives earn a grand or two their first week on the job. We pay you at the end of each week so you can easily see the results of your hard work!
  • How do I get appointments?
You would call clients that you have been recommended to, or people you are personally connected with. Our representatives start their paid training appointments with people that they are connected with (so that they are comfortable). The majority of the position involves meeting with clients that have been referred by other clients. Due to the friend of a friend approach, appointments are easy to get; our representatives can schedule as many as they want!
  • Do I need experience?
There’s no experience necessary. We provide all the training you need to succeed as a representative. The initial training seminar is a two-day program led by experienced District/Division Managers. You'll participate in these interactive and engaging sessions through our virtual meeting platform. We also offer ongoing training sessions and virtual conferences so you can keep learning.
  • What are the qualifications?
Applicants need to be at least 17 years old. We look for people who are: - Open-minded - Willing to learn - Coachable - Positive thinkers
  • What does it take to be successful?
Successful representatives are committed, positive, and communicate frequently with their local office. This open line of communication is important because our offices are filled with supportive, fun, and experienced people who want to help you succeed at the level you desire.
  • How do I qualify for scholarships?
As a company, we award scholarships to students each year. To be a candidate for one of our scholarships, you must be a full-time college student and be among the best performers through a sales campaign.
  • Still not sure?
No problem. The best thing you could do would be to schedule a virtual interview with a local recruiting manager. That way they can answer any questions you have, and see if it's the right fit for you! You can do that by filling out an application & scheduling a time to meet.
